Juanita Irene Howard, was born on January 4, 1934, in Maysville, Kentucky, to the late Hartman and Mae Nash. She passed away on August 31, 2025, in Mokena, Illinois, at the age of 91. She lived a vibrant life filled with energy and a spirit that touched all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her son, Chris, and one grandson Trevor Holt. She is survived by her sons, Kelly (Jennifer), Robert (Sheila), and her daughters Jennifer (Marty) and Joy (Dominic), along with 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren who will carry on her legacy.
Juanita began her career at The Ledger Independent in her hometown before moving on to esteemed positions at McCalls, United Color Press, and Hennigan. Her remarkable work ethic carried her through a successful career, culminating in 14 years with the IRS after her brief 6-month retirement from Hennigan.
Her personality was described as happy-go-lucky and full of energy. Not only did she find happiness in her work, but she also cherished her time spent engaging in hobbies, particularly visiting the casino and going to bingo.
Visitation for Juanita will be held on September 5, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, located at 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia, Ohio 45377. The Funeral Service will take place on September 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Malcosky officiating, and burial to follow at Polk Grove Cemetery.
