Joyce Hanauer

Age 71, of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Miami Valley Hospital. Joyce was born December 27, 1946 in Dayton to the late Eugene & Thelma (Skidmore) McDaniel. In addition to her parents, Joyce was also preceded in death by one son, Jeff Sears; and a brother, James “Homer” McDaniel.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband of the past 48 years, Steven R. Hanauer; son, Chris Sears; brother, Michael “Mike” McDaniel; sister-in-law, Judy Hanauer; two grandchildren, Thea Sears & Elliott Sears; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family & many good friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 22, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. John Seagraves will officiate. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
