John R. Dalzell
Age 85, of Huber Heights, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022. He was born June 30, 1936 in Inkster, Michigan. John was preceded in death by two wives, Nancy C. Dalzell and Leara Dalzell; and by one son, Jeffrey D. Dalzell. John is survived by two sons, John T. “Tim” Dalzell and Jayme Dalzell; one daughter, Tammy Ratliff; two step-sons, Danny Prater and Randy Prater; and by numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren. John was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, on game day you could find him sitting in his chair watching every inning of the game, he would then grab the schedule which he had picked up at the local Frisch’s and would write either a “W” or a ”L” depending on the final outcome of the days’ game. He was also a football fan, loved his Michigan Wolverines as well as the Cincinnati Bengals and was so so happy on Sunday to watch his team play in the big game, as with most of us he was very disappointed at the final outcome and stated, “well it won’t take them 30 years to get there again, that’s for sure.” He was Retired from General Dynamics in Lima Ohio, where he was extremely proud to have been involved in the production of the M-1 Abrams Tank. The family will be receiving friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday (2/20) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, Ohio.
