JoAnn Smith

Age 85, of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at her home. JoAnn was born October 21, 1934 in Anniston, Alabama to the late John & Ruby (Brock) Clay. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, George A. Smith, in 2018; brother, Howard Clay; and by her sister, Virginia Veighey and her husband, Andrew.

JoAnn was a member of Cassel Hills Church of Christ and she enjoyed playing Bridge & Bunco.

JoAnn is survived by two children and their spouses, Joyce Ruiz (Monico) & Dennis Smith (Kay); sister-in-law, Joann Clay; three grandchildren, Levi Smith & Lacy Smith (Jake LeBisto) and Jacob Ruiz (Ashley); three step-grandchildren, Lucio Ruiz (Ana), Maria Garcia (Lolo) and Oscar Ruiz; nine step-great grandchildren; and by her extended family & many good friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021 , at Cassel Hills Church of Christ, 836 Brown School Road, Vandalia, Ohio 45377.
