Joan D. Ashburn

Joan D. Ashburn, 91, of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, in Troy, Ohio. She was born to Andy & Cora Walker on May 19, 1932 in Union County, Tennessee. Joan was retired from General Motors. She was preceded in death by her parents and 7 brothers & sisters.

Survived by her daughters, Geraldine “Jeri” Slusher, Beverly (Stan) Vance & Katrina Graves; son, Keith (Kimberly) Ashburn; sisters, Pauline Emery & Zola Mae Henegar; brother, Earl Walker; 6 grandchildren, Laura (Jimmy) Hampton, Greg (Kim) Bretz, Heather (Brooks) Juneau, Cory (Allison) Vance, Courtney Ashburn & Sarah (Josh) Moore; 7 great grandchildren, Dakota, Peyton, Sidney, Taylor, Kate, Brayden & Parker; special friends/caregivers, Patti Withem, Heather Davis & Kathren Diaz; many other relatives & friends.

The family will receive friends 5:00-6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, Ohio, with funeral service at 6:30 p.m. The burial will be held privately at Forest Hills Cemetery, Tipp City.
