Jerry E. Niswonger

Jerry E. Niswonger, 80, of Medway, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He was born to Gerald & Madonna Niswonger on January 19, 1946 in Darke County, Ohio. Jerry was a graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School. He enjoyed playing cards and was an avid sports fan, especially Ohio State Football. 

Preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 40 years, Sherry Ann Niswonger, and his brother, Larry Niswonger. 

Survived by his son, Scott Niswonger (Cindy); daughters, Tracy Piatt (Andy) and Holly Wilson (Matthew); brother, Gary Niswonger; sister, Teresa Philomeno; sister-in-law, Gloria Niswonger; grandchildren, Ian, Austin, Elissa, Karli, Hunter, Kathryn, Hailee, Wesley, David & Johnathan; great grandchildren, Kynleigh, Bella, Logan, Anna, Ben & Rose; many other relatives & friends. 

The family will receive friends 12-1 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, with the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Mark Ballard, officiating.
