Jeremy Michael Atkinson

Age 54, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026. He was born March 7, 1972, in Dayton, Ohio to Mike Atkinson and Monica Wells.

Left to carry on his memory is his wife, Daniella (Taylor) Atkinson; his daughter, Miranda Audet (Andreau); two grandchildren, Archer & Julien Audet; his father, Mike (Lynda) Atkinson; his in-laws, Mackie & Christine Bubnick; sister, Stephanie Guy (Dave); sisters-in-law, Chelsea Ganger (Travis), Lindsay Bubnick (Tim) & Mackenzie Bubnick (Brad); nephews, Layton Flatt (Ali), Logan Flatt (Sarah), Madison Ganger, Carson Guy, Evelina Lodges and Noah Ganger; great nephew, Luke Flatt; great niece, Lainey Flatt; O.G. wife and friend, Alicia Zachary-Hempy; his three cats, Freddie, Sammy & Slick; and by his extended family & many good friends.

In death he is reunited with his mother, Monica Joy Wells; grandparents, Frank Irvin Wells, Hazel Potts, Curt & Betty Atkinson; and by his loyal companion, Boots.

Jeremy spent most of his teaching career with Springfield City Schools. He was loved BIG by his students and co-workers. He surrounded himself with music. It was one of the ways he expressed himself and connected with the people he loved. He was always sharing songs, finding the perfect one to match a moment, a feeling, or a memory. He loved music so much that he made sure his hearing aids were Bluetooth-enabled—so he could, when necessary, drown the rest of us out! He also loved reading and was also an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed following the Reds and the Pittsburgh Steelers since he was a child. 

Jeremy loved being outdoors, spending time in nature, traveling, and playing golf with friends. He had a way of taking life as it came, rarely worrying about things he couldn’t control. He simply rolled with it, usually with a smirk on his face and a joke ready to follow.

Jeremy was truly the life of any party. His humor, his music, his easygoing spirit, and his ability to make people laugh will be deeply missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known and loved him. And if Jeremy ever annoyed you or gave you a hard time, you could be pretty sure it was because he liked you.

Jeremy’s greatest joy was being a dad to his daughter, Miranda—and he was a truly wonderful one. They shared a special bond built on dark humor, movies, laughter, and plenty of jokes.

Miranda blessed him with two beautiful grandsons, Archer and Julien, who lovingly called him “Grumpaw.” He was so incredibly proud to be their Grumpaw and cherished every moment with them. He was also deeply proud of the mother Miranda had become.

A celebration of life will be held on September 19 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Tipp City Eagles Aerie #2201, located at 202 East Main Street, Tipp city, Ohio 45371-1929. All of Jeremy’s family & friends are welcome.

People spend a lifetime not finding their person, you were mine. In 26 years, we may not have always been together, but you were always there for me. I am so thankful we found our way back to each other. You were my personal chef, my best friend, my travel partner, and my complete and totally safe place. You will forever hold a large part of my heart.

You knew all my favorites, down to my favorite Snapchat filter. You knew the little things that made me laugh, and somehow you always knew exactly what I needed without me having to say it. With you, I never had to pretend to be anything other than myself. You just got me. I will cherish every single memory from these last 10 years especially. I will try to honor you by doing what makes me happy. You will always be my favorite.
