Janice M. Schlairet

SCHLAIRET, Janice M. (Phillips), in loving memory of Janice (Phillips) Schlairet, born January 7, 1943 in Norwalk, Ohio, daughter of the late Gifford & Katherine Phillips. Janice passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 2:21 pm at Hearth and Home of Vandalia. Preceded in death by 2 sisters and 1 brother, Janice is survived by her husband of 37 years, Larry; children, Larry & Peggy Harness, Theresa & John Gatzulis, Garry & Becky Harness, Brian & Pam Harness & Dan Harness; 5 step-children; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post #9582 and was also a member of the Teamster Retirees #957. She volunteered for the USO at the Dayton Airport and was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 7 at St. Christopher Church, 435 E. National Rd., Vandalia with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Monday evening (4/6) from 5-7 pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to St. Christopher Church or Vitas Hospice in Janice's memory.
