HELD, JANET P., age 66 of Butler Township, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born May 6, 1944 in Sandusky, OH, daughter of the late Edmon & Helen (Schatz) Miller. She was a 1962 graduate of Sandusky High School and attended Miami University. She was a retired Realtor with ReMax Alliance of Vandalia. Janet was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church; APO Sorority; she was Erie County Fair Queen in 1961; she was an Exchange Student to Istanbul, Turkey; a member of TWIGS #45 serving as President; and former president & member of Friends of Aullwood. Janet is survived by her husband of 46 years, Charles W. Held; 2 sons, C. Bradley Held of Chicago and Jeffrey Held of Vandalia; 2 sisters Mere Hickey of Huron; Sue Pfaff of Tiffin; 2 sisters-in-law Debra Moore of Vandalia, Sondra Hotchkiss of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Lenore Kure, Minister of the First Congregational Church, of Sandusky and a friend of the family officiating. Entombment at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5 to 8 P.M. If so desired contributions may be made to Friends of Aullwood or Twigs #45 in Janets memory.
