James (Jim) Michael Searcy, age 70, of Troy, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 14th, 2026. He was born on November 5, 1955 in Dayton, Ohio, to James R. and Elaine Searcy. Jim was preceded in death by his father, James Searcy, brother, Bobby Searcy, and son, Christopher Searcy.
He is survived by his mother, Elaine; brothers, John and Doug; his wife, Anila; daughters, Ashlie, Megan, Annaleah; stepson Matthew and grandchildren, Silas and Marcie. James served in the U.S. Army, loved his family, enjoyed fishing and competition shooting.
The family will receive friends 12 noon Sunday, November 1 at Morton and Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, OH, with the memorial service beginning at 2 p.m. The burial of Jim’s cremated remains, with honors, will take place at the Dayton National Cemetery on Monday, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. Condolences can be shared at www.MortonWhetstoneFH.com.
