James W. Rohr

ROHR, James W. "Jim", age 87 of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014. He was born January 1, 1927 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Frank W. & Viola (Dyke) Rohr. Jim was a retired employee of NCR, was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #9582 and the American Legion Post #668. Preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary (Bowman); 3 sons, Jim Rohr Jr., Larry Rohr and Bill Rohr; 1 sister, Betty Albert; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild, along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 pm, Wednesday, January 22 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or to the charity of your choice in Jim's memory.
