James E. Campbell

CAMPBELL, James E., age 80 of Vandalia passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born January 3, 1935 in Dayton, OH. James was a retired Carrier with the United States Postal Service and was also a U.S. Army Veteran. James was a lifelong avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Dayton Flyers. Preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, James is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet Campbell of Vandalia; 4 children, Jackie Mitchell (Rob) of Lima, Julie Strader (Todd) of Butler Twp, Jeff Campbell (Linda) of Centerville and Judy Pinson (Mike) of Vandalia; 9 grandchildren, Kayla, Wesley, Jason, Elizabeth, Andrew, Claudia, Rianna, Rebekah and Jennifer; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Tom Wood, along with numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 20 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until time of service.
