Harry L. Snodgrass

Age 73, of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026. He was born June 19, 1952 in Norton, Virginia to the late Patrick & Kathy (Musick) Snodgrass. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Patricia “Pat” Snodgrass, in 2023; and by several siblings.

Harry retired as a Firefighter/Paramedic/Inspector for the City of Vandalia. He was a long-standing member of (the former) First Pentecostal Church of Murlin Heights and a current member of New Life Church in Springfield.

Harry is survived by two children, Patrick (Mindy) Snodgrass and Jennifer (Rev. Timothy) Blevins; three grandchildren, Derek (Jessica) Blevins, Breanna Blevins & Adeleigh Snodgrass; one great granddaughter, Eleanor Blevins, with another on the way (Emilia Blevins); one brother, Ralph (Kathy) Musick; one sister, Phyllis Smith; and by his extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, June 8, at Morton & Whetstone funeral home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Harry’s son-in-law, Rev. Timothy Blevins, officiating. Interment will be at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia.

The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the staff of Hearth & Home of Vandalia for the loving care they provided to Harry while he lived there.
