Gloria Jean Gala

Age 67, of Vandalia, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022. Gloria was born December 3, 1954 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late James & Genevieve (Thaxton) Workman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Larry Gala; and by one son, Jimmy.

Gloria is survived by two children, Tonya Jean Cabay & her husband, Jacob and Norman Blount; her dear friend, William Howell; brother, James Workman; sister, Candy Lay; eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.

The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael Malcosky officiating. Interment will be at Poplar Hill Cemetery in Vandalia.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to Gloria’s family to help with unexpected expenses.
