Geraldine Rose Stephens, 89, went home to Jesus on November 8, 2023. Geri was born September 27, 1934, in Harriman, Tennessee to the late Charles and Dollie (Mullins) Rose. She is survived by Will Stephens, her husband of 71 years, her children, Ruth Fitzsimmons (Desmond), Nina Friedman, John Stephens (Connie), and Merry Moody (Dirk); her grandchildren, Joshua Moody, Sarah McCollum, Katelyn Thoroughman, Chris Willis, Brittany Winfield, and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, David Stephens and Jordan Stephens.
Geri loved her Lord Jesus and served Him as a Christian wife and mother, as well as devoting her talents to Womens’ Ministry and serving as a cook for several church-building mission trips. She was a poet, a mentor, and beloved by all.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm, Monday, November 13, 2023 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia with Pastor Harry Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:30 am until time of service.
