HIGGINS, GERALDINE M. GERRI , age 84 of Troy, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2009. She was born February 20, 1925 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Charles & Lydia (Schmidt) Dungan. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Higgins in 2000, 1 sister, Doris Welch, and 1 brother, Marvin Dungan, Gerri is survived by 1 daughter, Linda & husband, Allan Roth of NV; 2 sons, Robert E. & wife, Patricia Higgins of Vandalia and Dale & wife, Laurie Higgins of CA; 4 grandchildren, Robert W. Higgins, David Roth, Krista & husband, Brandon Boggs and Ella Higgins; 2 great-grandchildren, Mea Boggs & Jayvan Boggs; 2 brothers, Charles R. Dungan and Harvey Dungan; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. It was Gerris wish that her body be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held in her honor at 3:00 pm Saturday, September 12, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Thomas Weeks officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00pm until time of service.
