Gerald R Duncan, 89, of Huber Heights, OH made his entrance into heaven on September 4, 2021. He was born on August 27, 1932 to Edgar Lee and Helen Duncan. He grew up in Dayton, OH and was the third born of four sons (David, Robert, and Donald preceded him in death). Gerald loved to tell the story of selling newspapers on the corner in Dayton during World War II when he was a boy. He later attended Vandalia Butler schools which is where he met his loving wife of 63 years Velma Cooper Duncan. They welcomed 4 children into their family, Rhonda, Kathy, Jerry and Denise as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. His military service included time in the US Navy where he served proudly. Gerald worked for many years and retired from Chrysler Corp after 30 years of service. He was an active member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #100 of New Carlisle, OH for over 50 years. He served as Past Master of the lodge for 1 year. Gerald was very proud of his Jewish heritage, loved cooking, and could make a mean matzah ball soup. He always had pastrami and pickled herring on hand to offer anyone that was willing to try his favorites. He loved singing Al Jolson songs and loved his grand dog Toby.
Later in life, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and in doing so has a new heavenly home. Gerald leaves behind his wife of 63 years Velma and his four children; Rhonda Gilman (Steve) of New Lebanon, OH, Kathleen Keller of Huber Heights, OH, Jerry Duncan (Brigid) of Brookville, OH, and Denise Davidson (Robby) of Abilene, Texas.
