George W. Youngerman

Age 95, of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022. He was born October 17, 1926 in Dayton to the late Joseph E. & Marie (Sterrett) Youngerman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, George, Jr., and by three brothers & five sisters.

He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and was a U. S. Army veteran. He worked for the Vandalia Police Department and the Vandalia Rescue Squad.  He retired from Phillips Industries in 1988.

George is survived by his loving wife of the past 73 years, Marjorie I. (Beach) Youngerman; two sons, Rich Youngerman & Gary Sr. & his wife, Tami; five grandchildren, Richie (Lindsay), Gary Jr. (Dani), Michael, Amanda (& fiancé, Alex) & Dylan; and by four great grandchildren, Logan, Payton, Anthony & Rosie.

The family will be receiving friends from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m., on Tuesday, January 25, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 East National Road, Vandalia. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Andrew Smith at 11:30 a.m. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
