Fred L. Reichard

Age 88, of Vandalia, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 26, 2017. Fred was born December 8, 1928 in Miamisburg to the late Fred E. & Gertrude (Stultz) Reichard. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary & Bernadette; two brothers, George & Bob; niece, Virginia & nephew, Danny.

Fred was a U. S. Army veteran and he retired in 1992 with 30 years of service at Smedley Chevrolet as a salesman. Fred was a charter member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Vandalia and he played tennis for 70 years – having won many tournaments & trophies.

He is survived by his loving wife of the past 62 years, June O. (Oram) Reichard; nieces, Theresa, Elise & Jane; and by nephews, Tom & John.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. John Tonkin at 10:30 a.m., Thursday (3/2) at St. Christopher Church, 435 E. National Rd., Vandalia. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Cemetery in Miamisburg. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Fred to St. Christopher Church.
