Eugene I. Walton

WALTON, Eugene I., age 89, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born February 15, 1923 in Danville, VA, son of the late Eugene G. & Irene (Payne) Walton. Eugene was a retired employee of General Motors with 32 years of service, was a member of the Solar Masonic Lodge #730 F&AM and the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. Preceded in death by 2 brothers, Andrew S. Walton & Roger Walton and 1 sister, Myrtle Scearce, Eugene is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy; 1 daughter, Joy Harshbarger (Bob) of Dayton; 1 son, Ronnie Walton (Sally) of Dayton; 1 sister, Estelle Carson of VA; 1 granddaughter, Tammy Jennings (Jack) of IN and 2 great-grandchildren, Victoria & Kaitlyn Jennings. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, August 27, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Libby Martin officiating. Burial to follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service.
