Ethel Smith

SMITH, Ethel , age 82 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Carriage Inn Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. She was born August 19, 1926 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Denzil R. & June M. (Culbertson) Sorrell. Preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Smith in 1982 and 3 brothers, Elwood, Denzil and Russell Sorrell, Ethel is survived by her daughter, Saundra & husband, Joseph Gentry of Vandalia and her son, Mickey & wife, Jennifer Bush of Vandalia; 2 granddaughters, Melissa & husband, Rob Crawford and Christina & husband, Mark Laugle; 4 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew, & Alexis Crawford and Ian Laugle; 2 brothers, Ronnie & wife, Sue Sorrell of SC and Elmer & wife, Rosie Sorrell of Centerville; sister-in-law, MaryAnn Sorrell of Dayton and numerous other relatives and friends. A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, October 15 at Bethel Cemetery, Phoneton, OH with Rev. Ronald Hajarian officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Ethels memory.
