Esther Spring

Spring, Esther A. (Downing) age 94 of the Vandalia Park Care Center, passed away Saturday Dec. 5, 2009. She was born Dec. 27, 1914 in Dayton, daughter of the late Earl & Elizabeth (Young) Downing. She was a former employee of the Dayton Precision MFG. Esther was preceded in death by her husband Harry Spring in 1978; one daughter Bonna M. Buckner and 9 brothers & sisters. She is survived by one daughter Patricia & husband Wayne Brakefield; 3 sons & daughters-in-law Ronald & Joanne Spring, Steven & Etta Spring, Kenneth & Wava Spring; 11 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren and friends. Funeral services were held at 11:00am Wednesday Dec. 9 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home with Burial at Calvary Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from 10:00am until time of the service. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Vandalia Park for the excellent care given to Esther during her stay at the home.
