Ernestine Raptosh

Age 86, formerly of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Ernestine was born September 7, 1939 in Crab Orchard, Kentucky to the late Joe & Marjorie (Chandler) Manuel. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Raptosh, in 2020; and by two brothers, Clark & Bobby Manuel.

Ernestine retired from Chrysler Financial in 1995 with 30 years of service. She was a member of the Northridge Church of Christ, the United Commercial Travelers and she was Kentucky Colonel.

Ernestine is survived by two children, Jean McCravy and Nickolas Joe Raptosh & his wife, Elaine; one brother, Billy Joe Manuel; her twin sister, Norma Jean Wallin; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Zachary and Stephanie; and by her extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 11, at Morton & Whetstone funeral home, 139 South Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Curtis Brock officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 13, at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, Section 16.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Ernestine to either the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
