Ernestine Raptosh

Age 86, formerly of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Ernestine was born September 7, 1939, in Crab Orchard, Kentucky to the late Joe & Marjorie (Chandler) Manuel. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Raptosh, in 2020; and by her brothers, Bobby, Billy Joe, and Clark Manuel.

Ernestine retired from Chrysler Financial in 1995 with 30 years of service. She was a member of the Northridge Church of Christ; the United Commercial Travelers, and she was proud Kentucky Colonel.

Ernestine is survived by two children, Jean McCravy & her husband, Danny, and Nickolas Joe Raptosh & his wife, Elaine; her twin sister, Norma Jean Wallin; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Zachary, and Stephanie; and by her extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 11, at Morton & Whetstone funeral home, 139 South Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Curtis Brock officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Ernestine to either the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
