Earl W. Smith

SMITH, Earl W., age 80 of Kettering, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016. He was born April 28, 1936 in Portsmouth, OH, son of the late Elmer & Adeline (Fitch) Smith. Earl was a retired employee of Miami Valley Hospital and was preceded in death by 3 brothers, David, Blaine and Wayne Smith. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara (Morgan); 2 daughters, Cathy Rittenhouse (Larry) of TX and Ruth Ann Smith of Dayton; 1 sister, Carol Pincus (Joel) of NY; 4 grandchildren, April Rittenhouse, Jamie Miller, James Laycox and Robert Laycox and 3 great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Miller, Kirsten Miller & Lillian Laycox. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, November 17 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 am until time of service.
