Earl Gibson Davis, of Northridge, affectionately known as "Gibby," passed away on July 23, 2025, at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County. Born on May 21, 1945, in Paint Lick, Kentucky, Gib lived a life filled with laughter, kindness, and a deep love for his family and friends.
Gib was a proud graduate of Northridge High School class of 1963. His career was marked by dedication and skill, beginning with his work at Duriron and Precision Pattern. He later retired after many years of service as a wood pattern maker at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Upon retirement, he took on the challenge of opening Gib's Tire business in Medway, where he was well-loved not just for his work, but also for the warmth he brought to his customers, always providing donuts and a discount.
Known for his friendly smile and knack for humor, Gib had a kind and gentle heart that endeared him to all who knew him. He was an avid sports fan, passionately supporting the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns, rarely missing a game. Gib also enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.
Gib is survived by his wife Julie, his son, Jeff Davis (Tammi Rae) and daughter, Jodi Stratton and her husband "T-Bone". He was a cherished grandfather to Curtis (Morgan), Trevor and Jackson Davis Hoffman, Maggie (Steven), Eleanor and Jane King, and Eli and Abby Stratton. Additionally, he leaves behind Jodi's extended family, including J.J. (Jenny) Kyleigh, Emily Stratton and Carson Morgan. He is also survived by nephews Jason, Ben, and Brent Davis, as well as his beloved dog, Ross.
Gib was preceded in death by his father, John Earl Davis, his mother, Susie (Dollins) Davis, and his brothers, Larry and Tim Davis. His absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
