Donald R. Allen

Donald R. Allen, 79, of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at his home after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born to Wesley & Kizzie Allen on Sept. 28, 1946 in Jellico, Tennessee. Donald was a former member of the Vandalia Baptist Temple. He was active with the Vandalia Senior Citizens, playing euchre & pool, and enjoyed corn hole, walking and meeting friends at the Vandalia Rec Center. Don had an engineer’s mind and enjoyed fishing with his brother and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley (Bill) & Kizzie (Kay) Allen, and his sister, Betty.

Survived by his two daughters & sons-in-law, Angela (Gary) Triche, Amy (Dewayne) Koger; two brothers & sisters-in-law, Sonny (Michelle) Allen, Wayne (Rita) Allen; four grandchildren, Brad (Asia), Katelyn, Allison & Morgan (Kurt); one great granddaughter, Collins; many other relatives & friends.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, with the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Rich Harrison, officiating. The burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery.
