David Rodney O’Cull
Age 57, of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 9, 2021. He was born March 18, 1964 in Dayton to Robert M. “Finny” & Janice Dean (Phelps) O’Cull. He was preceded in death by his father, “Finny,” and by his two black labs, Bear & Tank.
Dave was a devoted family man & friend. He worked as an electrician for over 40 years with Carey Electric Company. Dave was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing, coaching, watching & critiquing. For several years he played competitive softball, traveled the U. S. for games, and was known as “Crawl-Daddy” and “Crawly.”
Dave is survived by his loving wife of the past 25 years, Sande Marie (Shroyer) O’Cull; his mother, Janice Dean O’Cull & her best friend, Melanie Beatley; two sons, Hunter Finny O’Cull (Haley) and Derek Lee O’Cull; two brothers, Dwayne O’Cull (Carol) and Devin O’Cull (Karrie); parents-in-law, Ron & Rosie Goforth; sisters-in-law, Sheila Shroyer, Jennifer Lewis (Harold) & Tara Off (George); brother-in-law, Ryan Goforth (Mia); nieces & nephews, Joe, Robin, Lucas, Sydney, Dusty, Evan & Ava; five great nieces & nephews, Easton, Millie, Perpetua, Tiberius & Felicity; and by his best friend (his dog), Rampage.
A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 16, at the Vandalia AMVETS Post on Brown School Road.
Dave’s cremated remains will be inurned at Dayton Memorial Park Mausoleum with his father.
