Daniel E. Deal
Born January 3, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio to his loving parents, Foster and Genevieve Deal, passed away into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, April 6, 2026, after a lifelong battle of congestive heart failure. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Weaver Deal, his son Josh Deal, his grandchildren Mason and Aubrey Deal, his devoted dogs Emmie and Tucker, special friends Jack and Sandy Spencer and Jim Huber, brother Ken and wife Ginnie, brother-in-law Bob Weaver and wife Jolaine, nieces, nephews and many, many friends who were like family.
Dan was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and a great friend to many. Dan attended Hamilton, Ohio schools and went on to graduate from Columbus Technological Institute in Columbus, Ohio. He was employed at Rim and Wheel Service in Dayton, Ohio for 45 years.
Dan enjoyed Rocky Mountain National Park and the beaches of Florida and Myrtle Beach, but his real love was his condo in Perry Park, Kentucky.
Dan loved golf, bowling, fishing and would try just about anything. He loved going to the Bengals games and watching wrestling, bull riding and about any sport on tv. He enjoyed working on family genealogy with Nancy. He really enjoyed his “poker club.” He loved music and had a good singing voice. Dan could be found in church and school choirs and musicals.
He and Nancy have known each other since they were 9 years old and ended up dating in high school. Dan would tell you that Nancy got the “big head” when she went off to Miami University and broke up with him. However, it was meant to be when they were reunited 2 years later and the rest is history. Dan married Nancy on June 14, 1969 (Flag Day… His joke was that they lowered the flag that day!).
Dan’s pride and joy is his son Josh. He loved him so very much and was very, very proud of him.
Daniel Edward Deal, you were loved by many and will be missed by many, but we know where you are and you are pain-free and at peace.
We would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and medical teams that allowed Dan to live longer than anyone expected. We would especially like to thank Dan’s cardiologist Dr. B. K. Srivastava and all who work in his office who worked tirelessly to help Dan live. We would also like to thank everyone at the Ohio Hospice Center in Troy, Ohio. Their kindness and care were greatly appreciated by Dan and his family.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in Dan’s memory to the Miami County Animal Shelter at 1110 County Road 25A, Troy, Ohio 45373 or the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, 1661 Nicholas Road, Dayton, Ohio 45417.
