H. Dan Letner
Age 94, of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dan was born August 24, 1922 in Cookeville, TN to the late Allison David & Catherine (Judd) Letner. In addition to his parents, Dan was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Juanita, in 2008; and by six siblings.
Dan retired from TWA Airlines with 39 years of service; he was a WW II U. S. Army veteran; a member of Polk Grove Church for over 60 years where he sang in the choir for many of those years; he was a member of the Vandalia Masonic Lodge # 742 F&AM for over 60 years. Dan was an avid golfer, loved all sports and he was a member of the Vandalia Senior Citizens where he played corn hole until he was 90.
Dan is survived by one daughter, Tammy Stormer (Dave); three grandchildren, Jason (Jenn), Shawn (Amanda) & Blaine (Bronwynn); and by two great grandchildren, Allie & Kinsey.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, July 15, at Polk Grove Church. Pastor Reed will officiate. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Dan to the Alzheimer’s Association.
