Daiton D. Sharp

September 11, 1999 — June 25, 2022

Dayton, Ohio

Daiton Deion Vinson-Sharp

Age 22, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Daiton was born on September 11, 1999 in Dayton, Ohio and was lovingly referred to as “D” and “Big D” by family and close friends.

D graduated from Vandalia-Butler High School and Montgomery County Career and Technology Center (Criminal Justice program) in 2018.  As a Butler Aviator, he was a stand-out at the cornerback and wide receiver positions on the Varsity Football Team and a state champion in Track & Field.  On the track is where D found his true passion. Daiton used his long legs and exceptional athletic ability to break multiple records as a long and triple jumper.  His talents on the track earned him a full athletic scholarship to Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan.  At MVCTC Daiton was a leader amongst his peers serving as captain of the Criminal Justice Program and as a Student Ambassador for the school.  D was also very devoted and involved in his Ginghamsburg Youth Group, he faithfully served in the Children’s Ministry and participated in many mission trips both locally and internationally.

If you were ever in Daiton’s vicinity you were likely to become his friend.  He was an absolute people magnet, but not because he tried, people were just naturally drawn to him. He had the biggest, warmest, most accepting heart.  Daiton was competitive on the field yet humble with an incredibly gentle soul. D was known for his big, beautiful smile that could light up any room and he knew how to make us laugh with his fun loving personality.  D overcame many obstacles in his youth and created a beautiful journey for all of us to witness.  The love he shared with us will live on forever through the many friendships and relationships he forged during his short time here.

The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, July 2, at Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Dr. Funeral services will start at 12:00 pm with Pastor Ryan Manger officiating.
