Christopher Umberto Ticknor September 22, 1965 – May 18, 2025
With heavy hearts and abiding love, we share the passing of Christopher Umberto Ticknor, who departed this life on May 18, 2025, at the age of 59 years old. After a courageous battle with cancer, Chris passed peacefully under hospice care, surrounded by the love of close family and friends.
Born on September 22, 1965, in Mansfield, Ohio, Chris – affectionately known as “Tic” to his friends and “Bean” to his family – was a man of kindness and grace. He had an extraordinary gift for making people feel seen and accepted, always meeting others with warmth.
Chris graduated from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. He continued his studies at The Ohio State University, where he earned his degree in Pharmacy. He and his wife Kim (Beimly) resided in Westerville, where they had two sons before settling in Dayton, Ohio and welcoming a daughter. Chris worked as an inpatient pharmacist at Miami Valley North Hospital, where he was known for his integrity, professionalism and dedication to compassionate patient care.
While he was proud of his career, Chris’s greatest joy was his family. As a devoted husband and immensely proud father, he poured his heart into every moment with his children – CJ (Madison), Aaron, and Karisa. Chris had many interests - primarily he was a passionate fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was an active volunteer with the Butler Performing Arts Association, a successful home-brewer and a member of Vandalia Masonic Lodge #742. But his truest joy was in the company of others. He loved to cook and host gatherings, enjoying laughter, good food, and enduring friendship.
Chris is survived by his wife Kim, their three children, and his mother Judy Brancazio. He is remembered lovingly by his siblings: Susan (Cray) Falde, Debbie Medina, and Chuck Ticknor. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Charles “Chuck” Ticknor. He leaves behind a wide circle of cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues and lifelong friends, all of whom were touched by his compassion, humor and generosity of spirit.
Two Memorial Services will be held to celebrate Chris’s life:
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates contributions to the Brent Hambrick Memorial Foundation. Brent, a dear friend and avid professional disc golfer, lost his life to lymphoma. The foundation has been a great support to the Ticknor family, and in Chris’s memory, they hope to continue that legacy of care.
Chris Ticknor leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet strength. He will be missed beyond measure and remembered with love always.
