Chae Il Parrott

Age 84, of Vandalia, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Friday, June 5, 2026. Chae was born July 15, 1941 in South Korea to Yong Tal Pak & Yong Ye Yi. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers & sisters.

Chae was a previous 20-year employee of the Vandalia Park Nursing Home Dietary Department. She also loved cooking for her family, gardening, shopping and will be remembered by her family as being an immaculate housekeeper.

Chae is survived by her loving husband of the past 50 years, James E. Parrott, Jr.; two children, John Mix and JoAnn Chambers & her husband, Joseph; six grandchildren, Alex, Madison, Alexis, Pierse, Braylon & Joseph (Jr); one great grandchild, Jocelyn; her best friend, Kim Reese; and by her extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, at Morton & Whetstone funeral home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at a later date at Dayton National Cemetery.
