Betty Forte

Betty, age 103, of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026. She was born January 16, 1923, in Utica, New York, the second of 5 daughters of Vincent and Mary Bonomo.

Betty is a longtime member of St. Christopher catholic church. She is proceeded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years (Joseph Forte) and daughter and son in law Mary and Larry Hall.

She is survived by two daughters, Joanne Schieltz (Jim) and Pam Otto (Paul); five sons, Nick Forte (Ursula), Vince Forte (Karen), Dennis Forte (Donita), Joseph Forte (Victoria), and Mark Forte (Vicki); 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Betty enjoyed bowling throughout the years and worked for the Vandalia school cafeteria for several years. She loved cooking and baking for her family. Whenever a family member would come into town, she insisted on making their favorite meal. Betty was truly an inspiration to her family and friends and will be missed tremendously.

Family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Friday, August 28, 2026, at St John catholic church, 753 S Hyatt St, Tipp City, OH 45371. Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10 AM at St John, with Fr. Travis Kahle officiating. Burial to follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery in Vandalia.
