Betty Jean Cundiff

December 19, 1931 — March 3, 2026

Butler Township, Ohio

Betty Jean Cundiff, age 94, of Butler Township Ohio, passed away peacefully after a brief illness March 3, 2026. She is going to be missed terribly. She is proceeded in death by her parents, James and Myrtle Cundiff, sister and brother-in-law Joy and Frederick Brooks, special friends Hugh Earhart and Ethel Fletcher, and late son in law Brian Hall. She is survived by nephew Gary Brooks and his wife Nadiene Brooks, nephew Joseph Brooks and his wife Karla Brooks, her niece Nancy Brooks, many grand nieces and nephews, and dear friend Diane Steele.

Betty Jean had an exemplary career. After graduating from Northridge High School, she began working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a secretary. It was just after WWII and she devoted herself to supporting our military. She worked her way to the top. Ultimately, she became top executive secretary to the top four star general of Air Force Material Command. She was invited to many important events, accompanied “her brass” to the Pentagon and Washington to make sure they looked good, and under her care they did. She retired at age 66 to take care of her mother.

It was at this time Betty Jean found her greatest love, gardening. She felt closest to God in her garden. Her true talent was making things beautiful, her yard and her home resonate with how much she loved them.
