Ava J. Blair

Age 71, of Troy, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 16, 2017. She was born October 14, 1945 in Middlesboro, KY to David & Oneita (Gilbert) Haynes.

Ava was active with the Broken Chains group with Ginghamsburg Church and she was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcyclist.

She was preceded in death by her father and by a brother, David Carl Haynes.

Ava is survived by her mother, Oneita Flaugher; two children, Deborah Gambrel (Del) and Dewaine “Tony” Blair (Melissa); seven grandchildren, Andrea “Ann,” Bill, Logan, Brittany, Rachel, Tim and Jackie; and by eight great grandchildren, Gracie, Brenna, Wyatt, Noah, Americhus, Myah, Ryver and Blaklyn.

The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday (9/20) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday (9/21) at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Moehn officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
