Armella V. Steinke

STEINKE, Armella V., age 89, of Butler Twp, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born December 7, 1917 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Fred & Laura (Meier) Howard. Armella was a former member of St. Rita Catholic Church and was a current member at St. Christopher Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Norbert in 1974; 3 sisters and 1 brother, Armella is survived by her 4 children, Larry Steinke (Marijo) of Vandalia, Libby Porter (Mike) of Indianapolis, Chuck Steinke (Connie) of Butler Twp. and Sue Steinke of Dayton; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Pauline Mitchell and Alice Schulte; 1 brother-in-law, Herb Steinke; 1 sister-in-law, Norma Terrell and a host of other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 7 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Vandalia with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. Private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr, Vandalia on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation or to St. Vincent DePaul in Armellas memory.
