Anthony "Tony" William Cooper, 62, of Vandalia, Ohio, passed away on August 14, 2026. Tony lived life in his own way, loved his family deeply, and left behind more stories, laughs, and memories than could ever fit into one obituary.
Tony was often happiest keeping to himself, though he could talk for hours when surrounded by friends and family. Music and pop culture were a huge part of his life, and he’d never turn down a good concert. His long hair was part of who he was, and cutting it was simply never up for discussion.
He also had a strong interest in genealogy and enjoyed uncovering the stories of his ancestors. Some of his happiest times were spent at the family cabin in Mt. Sterling, Ohio, a place where he could relax, get away from everything, and just be himself.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Jeri Cooper. He is survived by his wife, Bethany Cooper; children Shannon Cooper and Michael (Jessica) Cooper; grandchildren Breelyn and Wyatt Cooper; stepchildren Kyle and Megan Armstrong; brothers Kelly (Jackie) Cooper, Bart Cooper, and Clay (Carrie) Cooper; nieces Jenna Cooper-Hanna, Michelle Moran, and Chloe Cooper; and his cat, Alice.
Tony will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
“Remember the Coop.”
A memorial service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice of Dayton in Tony's memory. Condolences can be shared at www.MortonWhetstoneFH.net.
