Trecia L. Bates

Age 68, of Kettering, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Kettering Medical Center. Trecia was born January 23, 1951 in Dayton to the late Jessie J. & Joyce Mae (Stewart) Brandenburg. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Virgil Ray Brandenburg and her former husband Jerry L. Bates.

Trecia was a 1969 graduate of Kiser High School and a 1971 graduate of the Dayton School of Practical Nursing.  After 43 years of dedicated service at Kettering Medical Center, Trecia retired in 2014 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. 

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Bates (fmr. Rice); two grandchildren, Jenna & Lauren Rice; sister-in-law, Linda Brandenburg; nephew, Scott Brandenburg, niece, Kristin Brandenburg, great niece Oliva Brandenburg and by her extended family & many friends.

Trecia was a bright light to all who knew her.  Her presence will be missed.

The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 23, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 24 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
