Rita Broughton

BROUGHTON, Rita Frances, age 77 of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019 at her residence.   Rita was born August 1, 1941 in Louellen, Kentucky, daughter of the late Body William and Frances (Musick) Broughton.  Rita proudly served her country as a member of the United States Marine Corp from 1959-1962.  She was preceded in death by her brother, William Boyd Broughton and is survived by her loving sister, Dorothy Pyle of Vandalia, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, June 26 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Tim Blevins officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until time of service. 

A Graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, June 27 at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45417.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project in Rita’s honor.
