Marjorie Western Obituary

WESTERN, Marjorie A., age 88 of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Hospice of Dayton.  She was born November 24, 1930 in Athol, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Harold and Doris Cadrett.   Marjorie was a longtime member of St. Christopher Catholic Church.  She started her career as a telephone operator in Massachusetts and enjoyed that job for many years before ultimately retiring from Ohio Bell/AT&T.  Marjorie and her husband of 49 years, Lee, loved square dancing and ballroom dancing.  She enjoyed playing bingo and spent time caring for children in her home.  She was the manager for two of her son’s bands, Atlantic Crossing and Illuzion and had them playing shows all across the country.  Marjorie will be remembered for her gracious heart, her loving spirit and her willingness to open her home to all who wished to come.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be forever missed. 

Preceded in death by her parents, sister, Elaine Kampe and brother, Albert Cadrett, Marjorie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harold & Kathy Western of Vandalia, Ohio and daughter and son-in-law, Donna & Greg Agnew of San Marcos, California; 3 grandchildren, Taylor, Trayce and Ryan, along with her extended family and friends.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 10 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd., Vandalia with Fr. John Tonkin officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.  The family will receive friends at St. Christopher Church on Wednesday morning from 10:30 am until time of service.    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Marjorie’s memory.
