Louise Stewart Obituary

STEWART, Louise E., age 70 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 after a brief illness.  Louise was born May 2, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of the late Harold A. & Velora M. Lee.  She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipp City, and a retired registered nurse with the Dayton VA Medical Center.

Louise went to high school at Belmont High School in Dayton, Ohio. Louise began her career in health care as a candy striper in her teen years. Eventually, despite having a busy schedule as a wife and mother she attended Wright State University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Nursing.

Louise enjoyed many things in her life. She was an avid reader who passed that love on to her children. As a creative person she expressed that through crochet, tatting, and cooking. She made clothing, afghans, and delicate jewelry. Louise loved cooking for her family and friends. She was especially well known for her holiday baked goods. After a family member was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, she began to make her baked goods gluten free after much research and experimentation. Louise also enjoyed camping with her husband in their camper at Lake Erie.

Louise is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, James; 2 children, Priscilla Bish (Kevin) and John Stewart (Christine) and ten grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Elizabeth, Margaret, Allan, Matthew, Seamus, Owen, Evelyn and Eleanor.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am, Monday, July 1, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Tipp City with Rev. Fr. Vonderhaar officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek.  The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, June 30 from 2-4  pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
