Lois H. Lowrey

Age 88, of Dayton, passed away at her home on Saturday, October 26, 2019, with her family by her side. She was born February 9, 1931 in Dayton to the late Andrew & Ruth (Kolbe) Moorehead. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Andrew Lowrey; and five siblings, Charles, Marie, Doris, Norma & Mildred.

Lois retired from the City of Dayton Credit Union after many years of service. For over 30 years she and her husband, Richard, enjoyed being winter residents of Nettles Island, Jensen Beach, Florida.

Lois is survived by her loving husband of the past 69 years, Richard J. Lowrey; three children, Norman Ray Lowrey & his wife, Patricia, Linda Sue Lostutter & her husband, Rollie and Susan Herby & her husband, Frank; one sister, Faith Backs; seven grandchildren, Tammy, Lisa (Jon), Lori (Miguel), Trista (Brad), Richard (Melissa), Sarah (David) & Ryan (Elise); 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and by her extended family & many good friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Pastor Jerry Siler will officiate. Interment will follow at Willow View Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until time of service.
