Dale H. Wackler
Age 86, of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019. Dale was born October 25, 1932 in Piqua, Ohio to the late John & Ruth (Sotzing) Wackler. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of over 25 years, Shirley, in 1989; his daughter, Kathleen Wackler; and siblings, Evelyn A. Coate & Raymond Wackler.
Dale was an Inspector with Dayton Progress for 31 years. During the Korean War he served in the U. S. Army and he was a member of the AMVETS Post # 99, the American Legion Post # 668, and the VFW Post # 9582.
He is survived by his brother, Ned Wackler & his wife, Joann; nephew, E. Michael Bell & his wife, Heather; niece, Melodie Vorhees & her husband, Vennard; great niece, Mackenzie Emrick; great great nephew, Jacob Emrick; his devoted neighbor for over 58 years, Sue Whisman; and by his extended family & many good friends.
The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Piqua.
