Donald "Don" L. Howell

Donald Lee Howell, 80, of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at his home. Don was born to George & Evelyn Howell on June 25, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio. He was retired from the Inland Division of General Motors with over 37 years of service. Don was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn “Red” Watson, and his brothers, William & James Howell. 

Survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Bonnie; daughters, Dana (Scott) Decker & Diana (Dave) DeHart; brother, Robert Howell; grandchildren, Megan (Michael) Knotts, Matt Decker, Jake (Danielle) DeHart & Justin DeHart; great grandchildren, Peyton, Troy, Trey, Lawson, Tensley & Teagyn; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & many friends.

Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2024 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia, with Pastor Robert Hussong officiating. The burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. Sunday, March 10 at the funeral home.
