Larry Hall

HALL, Larry W., age 70 of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital.  He was born May 23, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late James “Buck” & Martha (Denney) Hall.    Larry was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Vandalia Lodge #742 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Order of the Easter Star, Englewood Chapter #563 and was a retired electrician with Delco Moraine – Division of General Motors.  Larry was a fan of all things bluegrass- music, festivals and hanging with his bluegrass buddies.  He was a bowler, enjoyed a stiff martini and had a heart for helping others. Larry never knew a stranger and enjoyed spending time with his favorite people, his grandchildren.  Larry and his sister Linda “Toad” shared a lifelong, special bond over frogs, which brought the entire family great joy over the years.

Preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Mary, brother, Lonnie Hall and sister, Linda Barefoot, Larry is survived by daughter, Valerie Waite (Jeff); son, Eric Hall (Amy); six grandchildren, Mason, Aiden and Isabella Waite and Arianna, Seth and Addison Hall; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and good friends. 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 4, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 7700 Dog Leg Rd., with Pastor Kurt Lammi officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City, OH.  The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Friday evening from 4-7 pm with Masonic Services and Scottish Rite services to be held at 7:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Larry’s honor to the American Diabetes Association or to the Ohio Masonic Home.

For those attending funeral services at the church on Saturday, masks are encouraged.
